My Fourth and Barely-Distinguishable-From-the-Third Query

Dear agent:

Lola is thoroughly disappointed in the zombie apocalypse. Despite a life of comic books and the Sci-fi channel, she’s ill-prepared for the reality of mutant, rotting death-machines. It doesn’t help that humans have become barely distinguishable from the slavering beasts that have appropriated their planet.

It’s not like Lola can do anything about it. She’ll settle for living out her remaining days with the small group of survivors that have developed an irritating habit of caring about her. Don’t they realize that in a world like this it’s best to keep people at arm’s length? That way, if they get eaten you have a running start.

Lola’s complacent existence is threatened by a cult, led by a man in a suit. We’ll call him the man in the suit. He wants Lola to relinquish the artifact that could help him fulfill his nefarious plot of repopulating the Earth with the brainwashed offspring of his congregants. Seriously. This dude’s messed up. Lola refuses to hand the item over, primarily because basic laws of science state you can’t give something you don’t have in the first place.

But basic laws of science have been unreliable as of late.

This isn’t Lola’s fight. But if she doesn’t come up with a plan fast, she could lose everyone she’s come to love. Oh, and it turns out the cult has figured out a way to control zombies, and they’re planning on using their zarmy to take over the world. So, there’s that too.

BEASTS & MADMEN is a 103,000 word science fiction novel. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Me

Hey, you have a great story here! But you really need to make your query two paragraphs long. Two. Paragraphs! If you post one and tweet at me, I’m happy to come crit it for you. Have you thought of getting some critique from a site like absolutewrite, the querytracker forums, or scribophile? They work wonders.
